CrossFit London’s 10th Birthday party: info dump

We’ve created a class for you to book into: this pays for gym use, BBQ food, beer, cake and medals etc. You’ll find it under the classes on Saturday 27 June 2015 at 1pm. Please book yourself and your +1 in here.

Competing isn’t mandatory! But we want as many people as possible to go home with a medal earned – so take a look at the events below. Pick a maximum of 3 events you’d like to compete in, even if it’s just for fun:

Olympic lifting comps (as % of BW)
clean,
c&j,
snatch

Powerlifting comps: (as % of BW)
deadlift,
bench,
back squat
Thruster

Gymnastic comps:
L-sit,
flag,
lever,
handstand/walk,
pullups,
pushups,

Metcon
Row
Run
burpees.

So an athlete may decide to compete in the clean, strict pullups and burpees comps, or bench and L-sit, or handstand walk, pushup and snatch. Any combo is fine, you decide.

We’re trying to make it inclusive so relative newbies can compete too. There may be other events we’ve overlooked so please mention. People are of course free to not enter at all!
We will run the heavy events  in 10MP with 4 lifters at a time, and BW ones in 9MP concurrently. With enough heats there’ll be time for competitors to get from one to another.

In the meantime, here’s some vintage pix for you to marvel over. Before our luxurious railway arches, CrossFit London’s first gym was a pagoda in Andrew’s back garden. We trained there in all weathers: freezing Winter or glorious Summer. Tell that to the kids today…
