The last ever Saturday WOD in the old Blackboard Gym.  A small part of Crossfit London UK’s rich history.  Lots and lots of fun memories.  Made some great new friends and learnt a ton of stuff about everything, not just Crossfit.  Thinking back to my nervous excitement of taking my first class here seems ages ago and how time has flown by.  But as always looking forward to what the future brings in the new gym.

Today we worked the back squats in the strength session.  2×5 then 1×5+.  We looked to maintain good depth and fought against the temptation to go shallow as we got tired.

Then on to the WOD

Thrusters and box jumps. Don’t you just love thrusters.  10, 9, 8, 7 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 reps of 40kg/30kg thrusters coupled with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 of box jumps.  So each set always added up to 11. The world record went to super mum to be Sally with just a tad over 7 minutes, err wow! And she brought chocolate brownies in!  So forget paleo and protein shakes, eat brownies and get pregnant. Lads just eat brownies. Anyone getting under 10 minutes was amazing and anyone in the 15 minute mark was excellent.

The two Kates, big kudos for fighting hard to finish, impressive.

  1. looks good – i’ll be doing this in my wee hotel gym today – dumbbell thrusters and subbing tuck jumps for box jumps and will dedicate it to our old box. sniff sniff

  2. Oh its so sad : ( I love our box. But truth is the people make it, so new building but same ol’ box really! Looking forward to it x

  4. Im sad i missed your class but i spend my saturday rafting with 2 American crossfitters. We decided that pulling yourself back into the raft was pretty much a muscle up added to the rowing and swimming was a pretty cool full day wod! Cant wait to come back next week i miss heavy things!! x
