Yeah Right! Could Angie ever be manageable? We shall see.
I started off today with a warm up requested by Temi.
She came into me this evening complaining how long it had been since she lifted a kettlebell.
If that is what the people want then that is what I shall give them!
So I started everyone off with a quick 3 rounds of single arm swings and snatches.
The strength program had Push press on the cards but instead of using the usual 5,5,5+, I had found a nice looking strength WOD to use.
Let me explain…………..
AMRAP 5 minutes 3 Thrusters and 7 Push Press
The fact that it is a strength WOD means that you are not looking to get a high volume of rounds.
Something between 3-4 rounds is ideal.
A guide for weight would be around 5% less then the 5 rep max being used.
This was a harsh 5 minutes but worth it.
The thrusters were heavy and the push presses were hardcore!
This brings us nicely on to the main WOD.
We all know Angie is usually ……..
100 Pull ups
100 Push ups
100 Sit ups
It’s a grinder of a WOD and normally take s about 30-40 minutes to complete.
But lets put a twist on it…………
20 rounds of 5 reps of each exercises.
5 Pull ups
5 Push ups
5 Sit ups
Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security this is still a tough workout.
Because of the quick turn around of the moves Manageable Angie has a very aerobic feel to it while working your form and technique by only doing the moves in such small groupings.
Everyone worked well and ever saw a few smiles on faces -something I don’t think Angie (original) usually gets when programmed.
