Beginners Programme v3.0

12 Jul

Since we started our ‘three session’ Beginner’s programme over a year ago we have had around 250 people go through the process. This has given us a terrific bank of data with which to evaluate its success, along with the areas we still need to develop.

The feedback that we received tended to focus on the following areas:

  • Three 90 minute sessions is not usually enough for most people to feel comfortable with all of the CrossFit movements in our syllabus
  • There is no actual workout in the beginners sessions (although 90 mins of drills sometimes feels like one!)
  • There is a big gulf between graduating from the Beginner’s programme and joining the main CrossFit classes
  • The pricing structure is different to that of the main classes

So, starting from next week (18 July) we are launching our improved Beginner’s, and new Foundations classes.

CrossFit London Beginners v3.0

The full CrossFit movement syllabus broken down into seven, one hour sessions:

  • Session #4: Squats, Pull-ups, Push-ups and Ring Dips
  • Session #5: Squats, Sumo deadlift high pull, Box jumps
  • Session #6: The barbell snatch
  • Session #7: The clean & jerk

Four beginners sessions scheduled each week:

  • Wednesday, 1930
  • Thursday, 1930
  • Saturday, 0930
  • Sunday, 1230

Priced the same as the main CrossFit classes, meaning that you can pay for sessions:

  • Individually (£12)
  • In packs of 5 (£55)
  • In packs of 10 (£95)
  • On a 3x/week monthly membership (£75)

Sessions rotate each week meaning that you can jump into the programme at any point, retake classes, and learn the syllabus at your own speed. Each session covers skills work and ends in a structured, scaleable Workout of the Day (WOD) based on the skills covered that day
