WOD 11th August Odd numbers Workout

13 Aug

Someone asked me today why do we always do odd numbered workouts.

I am sure they are not always odd but today was a classic odd numbered WOD.

I don’t actually have an answer for this question though. Maybe odd numbers are lucky??

Ideas on a postcard please.

The workout for today went like this……

Warming up consisted of a bunch of Kettlebell swings, snatches and oh Lunges

Following a catch up on technique 2 sets of 8 reps for each exercise.

The strength component for today was Overhead Squats.

It was laid out like this……2x warm up sets (lightish) 5,3,3,1,1

Mike made some impressive lifts reaching 60kg for his singles. Well Done Mike

Top marks Mike

The WOD for today was a bit mean, I wanted high reps and medium weight.

It was broken into 2 parts.

22-16-10 Kettlebell Snatches and Overhead lunges (reps split over each side)
2 Minute rest
9-15-21 Cleans and Ring Dips 35kg for guys 25kg for girls

I did have a go at this too and yep it’s as tough as it looks.

  1. Answer on a postcard…1, Three is a magic number, 2, It’s different from body building which normally uses even sets. Don’t know whether that was done deliberately to be a bit different when the first WODS were set up.
