Saturday morning Level 1 and 2 classes are now at the lovely new space at 3 Gales Gardens. Today we did:
Squat snatch drills, followed by
WOD: 12 min AMRAP
20 kettlebell snatches (10 each hand)
30 double unders (or 90 skips, or combo)
Every 3 mins, 3,5 or 10 full pushups (no knees allowed)
It was interesting to see the different abilities working alongside each other: from the skilled double-underer’s to the unable-to-skip-at-all-er’s: Crossfit’s scaling is the great leveller, ensuring everyone learns – and everyone gets thoroughly worked!
I’ve only very recently managed to string my DU’s together (having spent an age in the exhausting skip-DU-skip-DU camp) I can only echo Phil’s recent advice to get your own rope and PRACTICE!
My DU tip: first practice jumping higher in a regular rhythm without the rope.
