November testing

01 Nov

We are revisiting our testing this month. You’ll have a vague recollection of these that we last saw in June.

We kick things off tomorrow with the following:

Beyond RXD

Every minute on the minute for as long as possible:
5 handstand push ups
6 toes-to-bar
7 thruster (42.5/30kgs)

RXD

Every minute on the minute for as long as possible:
5 push press (35/25kgs)
6 toes-to-bar
7 thruster (35/25kgs)

Fitness

Every minute on the minute for as long as possible:
5 push press (20/15kgs)
6 sit-ups
7 thruster (20/15kgs)

Each test will seek to test you against the ten general physical skills of strength, power, flexibility, stamina, accuracy, agility, cardiovascular endurance, coordination, speed and balance.

If you did some of these tests in the summer you can gage how your progress is going since and expect to typically revisit these every four to six months. If not, now is the time to get some scores and times.

You’ll see there’s a few essential single-modality tasks, such as simple gymnastics movements, weightlifting movements and metabolic conditioning tasks (like a longer run or row) which will give you a great overall view of your general fitness.

As usual we’ll have the three levels and you will consult with the coach on the day as to what will be the most appropriate.

We’ll give you a taster in our Facebook group before the test day so you know it’s an opportunity to test. Remember that even the less sexy workouts like the runs and rows are essential to milestones to know and we expect you’ll rise to these challenges.

Get stuck in.
